On the topic of gay marriage, it’s no SHOCK they oppose it.
I read this kind of stuff and think of how long we still have to go if people continue to compare homosexuality to incest as if they are at all comparable.
Is it weird that I actually oppose this stand on incest? I mean, if it’s consensual, what does it matter to anyone else? They have no right to interfere, as it has no effect on them. Sure, it may be caused by mental disorders and/or lack of mental barriers, but if they don’t harm or affect anyone else’s rights, what the hell is wrong with it? Don’t get me wrong, for me the thought of incest IS kind of nasty, but whatever floats everyone’s boat, if I don’t like it, I just won’t look. As long as it’s consensual I don’t get what’s the problem with that sexual orientation, just as I don’t see why it’s wrong with homosexuality. People should learn to stop interfering in anyone else’s business.
Then of course there’s the subject of “Well, what if two incestual family members want kids?”. That is where I put my foot down, because it’s a given fact that mixing genes in that way is extremely risky, the child will most likely have extreme genetic disorders. To which I propose adoption!
As for homosexuality, it’s the same deal, other people should stop interfering in other people’s love. It’s not anyone else’s fault that you’re offended.
bit hypocritical. say people should stop interfering in other people’s love and then go on about how direct relations shouldn’t have children. Yes very risky for extreme genetic disorders but as pointed out IT DOESN’T AFFECT YOU. I don’t necessarily believe in incest or two people of direct relation marrying and having kids. However it doesn’t affect me so if that’s what they want to do, it is their choice not mine. Otherwise I can pretty much agree with the above text.

genetic mutations are not a sure thing. it only increases the chances and even then not significantly until a few generations down the line. we’re talking a family fucking tradition of messed up sibling babies before tails and shit start happening
people actually tend to be most attracted to those genetically similar to themselves. siblings who have not spent the first six odd years of their life together and meet up in adulthood usually want to get up on each other something fierce (see: genetic sexual attraction). this also applies to parents and stuff. which is why you hear these stories of teen boys meeting up with their predatory fucking cougar mothers after years of separation and being taken advantage of
so the problem is not really a biological thing
the problem comes in when we consider how morally iffy it can get. and i’m not talking church morals here, aberration of nature bullshit. when one party is significantly older than the other, there is a high possibility that some grooming took place, which is pretty fucking not okay
parent/progeny parings are almost invariably suspect if no early separation was involved. the adult might have molded the child into a role. and while i’m no expert on the subject of right and wrong, i like to think mind control is a universal no-no constant where sex and love is involved
if that is not an issue, however, i don’t see why we shouldn’t hop off the targaryens’ collective dicks and let them at it
